Jefferson Parish Road Bond Program
Jefferson Parish sought to solve one of the parish’s largest infrastructure problems, its roads, with a comprehensive road building program. That is when LeBlanc and Schuster was brought in to assist with a campaign to educate the public and help pass a millage to fund the largest road improvement program in the parish’s history. We successfully assisted the parish in getting the backing of the public to pass a proposition to raise funds through rededicating and extending a seven-eighths of one-cent sales tax. LeBlanc and Schuster was then hired to keep residents up-to-date on projects as they moved from the design phase to completion. This process often took months and years, so it was an on-going process of keeping the public updated on the programs progress. L&S accomplished this by implementing a combination of public meetings, public notices, newsletters, press releases and an interactive website to keep the public informed. The program resulting in over 15 years and over 200 million in infrastructure improvement projects that touched almost every part of the parish.
